I have left you all without an ending to the adventures on the trail with my brother!
Lemme gather up my thoughts and my trail journal after I watch the season premiere of Battlestar Galactica.... yes I am a geek, but most of you have known that for a while now.
In other news.... we have a lovely backyard that is home to about 40 chickadees and finches and 5 squirrels. One of these little squirrels has become our "wild pet". It's not that we planned it or anything, it's just sort of evolved to this point after her hanging around for the last year and a half. We've named her "Lucy" and she is the sweetest little pest around town. Here's a picture of her doing what she does best... which is pestering us for nuts.
She has gotten so used to us that she demandingly jumps into our laps and pulls our hands to her turning them over and over looking for nuts. After she gives it a rest and gives us this sort of "Dude... come ON with the nuts already" sort of look, we break out the goods. She takes them and she sticks around for a scratch behind the ear. Yep, that's right... she let's us pet her and scratch behind her ears. GAH! It's so cute I can't stand it.
The nicest thing about all of this is, there is no litter box to change, she only comes and hangs out for a few hours a day, she hasn't pooped or peed in the house and she comes to us for protection from the other squirrels that try to beat her ass down. Lucy has been around for a while, she's a smart cookie, not your average squirrel. Anyway... we like her tons, you might even say we love the little fluffy tailed rodent. Well, yeah you could say that because we actually do.
Anyway... time is a' tickin' and that means Battlestar Galactica is gonna be starting soon. I am so excited!
